UNIQUE ANTI-TERRORISM EXERCISE IN OLYMPIA PLZEŇ SHOPPING CENTER
Czech Republic / Luxembourg, 8 June 2017 - Olympia Plzeň Shopping Centre has provided its premises for a very unique counter-terrorism exercise of the Integrated Rescue System of the Czech Republic. The anti- terrorism training took place in the evening, so there was no disruption to shoppers. For all participants, it was a unique opportunity to try out tactical exercises in a specific area of an actual shopping centre. "We consider such a security-enhancing action to be extremely important and we support across other projects throughout Europe," said Petr Brabec, head of the Asset Management shopping centres at the CPI Property Group, owner of the Olympia Plzeň shopping centre.
Terrorism training simulations, which was attended by several dozen security officers, is to contribute to a greater security programme in business centres as well as the preparation for current global threats. In response to events in Europe and throughout the world, the Olympia Plzeň shopping centre has been dealing with the security of its customers in cooperation with the Czech police forces on a regular and protracted basis. Minimising the threat posed by islamic terrorism is one of the priorities for Olympia Plzeň, which is also based on the CPI Property Group's comprehensive security policy. Olympia Plzeň has therefore agreed to provide space for a unique simulation of anti-terrorism training and finds it conducive to experience detailed familiarisation with the nation‘s security and rescue forces with this shopping centre, the largest in the western Bohemia.
